All extensions off - firefox restarted - same error. Safari responds in step with the fox. IE7 is the only one honky-dory with the wiki. I'm running XP (sorry), what are you running their DeeJayK? I get the same error on my home network and work network.

Harbor Properties Wants Your Input

As we move forward with the project on the Saint Gobain site (S. Hudson and 27th Ave. S) we are exploring retail options for approximately 20,000 square feet of space. What businesses are missing in the neighborhood that you’d like to see here?

Potential businesses should complement the existing ones, be financially viable, and have a proven track record. Our desire is to support and promote the existing diversity and small-town feel of the neighborhood. Feel free to comment below on those thoughts and ideas. If you have contact information for those businesses that we should follow up on, please e-mail Kira Shively at:

kshively@harborproperties.com

Many people have expressed a desire for Trader Joes and several smaller, local hardware/garden stores like City Peoples, but so far we have not had luck in enticing them here.

Construction ground breaking is scheduled for early fall of 2009, and occupancy would begin in the summer of 2011.

We value your feedback and look forward to your thoughts. Thank you.

Hmmmm…I've been using FF3 for a while now (on multiple computers and multiple networks), and I haven't experienced any difficulties in logging in to this or another wikidot site via a custom domain. The trouble with FF (and also it's main appeal) is that it offers extensions to enhance it's usability. Of course, this means that my FF3 is not the same as another user's FF3.

I would suggest that the original poster try another browser (IE, Safari, Opera) as a troubleshooting step. That way we can determine if it's likely to be a FF3 issue.

If the issue appears to be limited to FF3, I would suggest that the poster disable any extensions he/she has installed and test again. If that works, then I would suggest re-enabling extensions one by one to determine which might be the culprit.

Of course, if the wikidot.com domain works, that might be a simpler solution.

Starbucks - "which you can find in any other neighborhood" - is here because Magic Johnson partnered with Starbucks in 1998 to open coffee shops in "underserved, inner city neighborhoods" like ours. Columbia City had Lottie Mott's, but I think that many in the 'hood welcomed Starbucks as aspirational symbol. Bummer for them!

From this post, it sounds like the error happens when Firefox 3 meets a wikidot site accessed via a custom domain. A fix might be in the works. In the meantime, Firefox 3 users, I guess it's best to access the site using that old standby, http://columbiacity.wikidot.com.

That might continue to be frustrating, because many of the site's links will keep driving you back to the (otherwise preferred) ColumbiaCitizens domain.

Hey, Red Mill isn't a chain. There are only two locations and both stores are owned by the owners, not licensed.

Restaurants — Sushi. Burgers. Indian. Thai.
Retail — Music (Sonic Boom or Easy Street). PCC or a small grocery or True Value hardware.

In case you need a visual, check out this video.

please no kid friendly coffee shop. some of us need a place to get away from them….

The height of Columbia City's sublime summertime…

  • alley dancing,
  • BeatWalk's picking up the pace,
  • a garden club germinates,
  • Seward Park playground — ready to take it to the next level,
  • anonymity and censorship in the wiki,
  • and parties are popping up all over.

There's plenty of news and views to share.

Enjoy,

S.

Thanks Scott, not to be too much of wino, but boy, with a menu like that wine is a must (no pun intended!) I drove by there today and the paper is still in the windows…They said 3 weeks so they should be opening soonish?

I want to make a point to support all of these new businesses, Island Soul is our next stop. I hope it's better than Kallaloo. Having lived in Jamaica, it was a disappointment, but to be honest, we only went one time and it was in the opening days.

Re: Anonymity, participation, censorship by scottplanscottplan, 1216736468|%e %b %Y, %H:%M %Z|agohover

I don't wish to be anonymous. I created an account recently when I moved into the neighbourhood. Now when I try to login I get the following message:

Error processing the request.

You have no valid security token which is required to prevent identity theft.
Please enable cookies in your browser if you have this option disabled and reload the page.

I'm familiar enough with my browser (firefox 3) to know that cookies are enabled and that I am receiving cookies from the site - so I doubt this really is the problem. And I get the error regardless of binding my IP or not.

Any ideas why this may be happening?

BeatWalk News
Hi neighbors,

Get ready for a big Seafair weekend by coming to the next BeatWalk, August 1st, from 7-10pm. We’ll be welcoming Gather as a new venue that night! Even more great music, and still only $5. Kids are always free. (Don't let the price fool you - the music is some of the best in town.)

Also on August 1st, the Columbia City Gallery’s Art in the Alley sale – come check out the great prices and creativity of local artists while enjoying live music. The art sale will be behind Columbia City Fitness Center, in the courtyard off the alley across from Verve, and runs from 5-9pm.

BeatWalk is now selling t-shirts, tote bags, bike bags, and mugs online at http://www.CafePress.com/beatwalk. All proceeds go towards paying the musicians and minimal administrative costs. We’ll be adding new designs over time, and welcome any music-themed submissions from budding artists out there.

Visit us online for complete information at http://www.columbiacitybeatwalk.org. Our August line-up:

Show Brazil
To Brazil and beyond, this band features Eduardo Mendonca and a stellar group of musicians that play bossa nova, samba, jazz, and originals.

Les Troubadours with Fathia Allah
Experience a refreshing and magical ambiance with bright, uplifting and traditional music from France.
