benefit concert and silent auction for Drew Grow
We've got a big week at Columbia City Theater with events that are near and dear to our hearts. On Friday night we're celebrating one of five CD releases in the month of February with local band Yuni in Taxco and Saturday we're hosting a benefit for dear friend of the theater Drew Grow & The Pastors' Wives to help him get back on his feet after a nasty car accident this January.
Friday February 18th: Feral Children, Yuni in Taxco, Ocean Ages - 9pm/21+/ $10 adv – $12 day of show
One of the most exciting things we get to do here is celebrate local artists' CD releases and if you've noticed, more and more local bands are celebrating their big nights with us. (Five record release shows in February alone and four more scheduled in the next two months!) This week we're happy to help celebrate Yuni in Taxco's brand new album Sanpaku, which you can take a listen to here: http://yuni.bandcamp.com/
Saturday February 19th: A Benefit for Drew Grow and the Pastors' Wives and Silent Auction - 8pm/21+/$12 adv - $15 day of show
Featuring sets from The Maldives, Kevin Murphy (of the Moondoggies), Mychal Benjamin Goodweather (of Campfire OK), Bryan John Appleby, Jake Hemming (of Big Sur), Ghosts I've Met and more. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Drew Grow and the Pastors' Wives, the musicians playing are donating their time and there will be a silent auction and marketplace in the front of the house with goodies from local artists, musicians and businesses. Our silent auction (running from 7 to 10pm) features great goodies such as 3 nights at Doe Bay Resort and $2,000 worth of website work from Hardly Coded.
Sunday February 20th: Date Night with Michel Navedo in the Bourbon Bar
We think romance should be celebrated all year round and we're celebrating love every Sunday in the Bourbon Bar with jazz trumpeter Michel Navedo. You're more than welcome to come and enjoy the music for free, but if you'd like to make the night all about your special someone, we're offering some incredible food and drink specials including a $30 date night special (a draft beer, house wine or well drink, an appetizer of salad, and two entrees of your choice). If this Sunday doesn't work out for you and your sweetie, don't worry, Michel will be joining us every Sunday in the Bourbon Bar.
