Up-Beat Girls Jazz Camp
Jazz Night School is hosting a great opportunity for girls to jump into jazz and/or get ahead. Learn improvisation skills and ensemble techniques in an empowering, intensive one-week day camp. No previous jazz experience needed.
For all instruments & vocalists, Grades 6-12
Aug 8 - 12, 9:30am -3pm.

Placement Meetings
15-30 minute meetings with parent or guardian, camper, and director will be held before camp to place girls in combos and set workshop topics.
Prerequisites
Some proficiency on your instrument and the desire to have fun working on jazz skills with other young women. No previous jazz experience needed.
Instructors and Mentors
Director/instructor Erik Hanson, all age, beginning and intermediate jazz studies specialist. Jazz big sisters and additional instructors from Seattle's jazz communities.
Daily Schedule
Includes jazz combo playing, workshops, jam sessions with jazz big sisters, history and optional big band elective (by audition)

Location
Up-Beat Girls Jazz Camp will be held at Jazz Night School, a music-house setting in Southeast Seattle near Columbia City.
