At the Farmers Market
- Last market day of the season! Apples, pears, winter squashes, beautiful greens and lettuces and all kinds of fresh vegetables from local farms, plus cheeses, eggs, meats, breads, cut flowers, ciders and more.
- Celebrate Halloween at the Farmers Market! Free hot apple cider, mask-making and face painting for kids & honey sticks for kids in costume.
Trick-or-Treating in the landmark district
Don't miss tricks and treats along Rainier Ave on Halloween. Don your best disguise and enter to win Geraldine's costume contest. Take your kids to the Farmers Market for some freebies and mask-making. Stop by Retroactive Kids for a little collage-making and crafts.
For trick-or-treating, look for orange balloons outside participating businesses. It all happens on Wednesday from 3 - 6 p.m.
At the library
- The monthly book group will discuss Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert from 6:45-7:45pm on Wednesday, November 7.
- The same evening, the library will be hosting Author Molly Gloss who will be reading from her new book, Hearts of Horses from 7-8 pm.
- Also on November 7 there's a workshop on getting college scholarships. On November 7, from 4-5pm, the NELA Center for Student Success will show you how to apply for and win scholarship money for your education. This workshop is free and everyone is welcome!
Columbia City Theater
Welcome to Seattle's oldest vaudeville theater at the heart of Columbia City's historic district. We are a live show venue, complete with the Hendrix Electric Lounge, a 230-person capacity theater & a state-of-the-art full recording studio! We welcome "to go" boxed dinners (say, from Tutta Bella just next door) into the theater during shows.

Landmarks Review Committee
The Columbia City committee meets FridayMONDAY. On the agenda:
- new signage,
- initial review of proposed development at the St Gobain site,
- follow-up briefing for demolition and new townhouses at 4729 36th Ave S.
Villa Victoria
On October 16 my new Mexican deli/take-out opened at 3829 S. Edmunds in the new Columbia City live-above lofts. Thanks to the many Columbia City merchants and residents for their warm welcome. I was amazed at how many people remember the take-out I used have on 34th Ave in Madrona. I'd been searching for a new location for four years, and it looks like I made the right choice in Columbia City. Villa Victoria is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 11:30 am to 7 pm., serving tamales, burritos, daily specials, desserts, and my own fresh roasted Café Mocambo. Look for the white neon sign that says TAMALES.
