Columbia City Farmers Market

This Wednesday the Farmers Market celebrates its 10th Anniversary! Join us for a fun-filed day of cooking demos (Chef Julie Andres of La Medusa), live music, activities for kids, free birthday cake and other goodies for market shoppers. Plus, enjoy our beautiful market produce and say thanks to our farmers for bringing us fresh, healthy, local produce.

On the market tables this week: more berries (strawberries) and cherries, sugar-snap peas, fava beans, wild salmon. Just two more weeks for asparagus — enjoy it while it's here!

survey for Seward Park play space

Calling all Columbia Citizens to take a moment to fill out a survey for the Seward Park play space. Your opinion matters — tell the designers what you'd like to see:

Also, save the date for the next public meeting where you will see several design ideas:

Thursday, July 24th
Seward Park Environmental & Audubon Center

Finally, swing by the old play space to check out the temporary equipment: a couple of diggers, spring toys and a merry-go-round.

Summer Movie Nights!

Seward Park Environmental & Audubon Center

Nothing says summer like a picnic and a movie! Combine both activities at the Center's Summer Movie Nights and bring the whole family along. Picnic in the park and then join us in the Center for some great movies. Upstairs, we'll be showing The Gods Must Be Crazy and downstairs we'll have Happy Feet for our younger audience. Childcare will be provided for the downstairs movie. If you have a comfortable folding chair, bring it. If not, borrow one of ours!

Columbia City in the blogossiphere

Amber at the Rainier Valley Post says she doesn't want direct links from the Wikli's blogossiphere over her concern that gossip just isn't her brand. We still encourage you to check out her blog.
