BeatWalk

Get ready for a big Seafair weekend by coming to the next BeatWalk, August 1st, from 7-10pm. We'll be welcoming Gather as a new venue that night! Even more great music, and still only $5. Kids are always free. (Don't let the price fool you — the music is some of the best in town.)

Also on August 1st, the Columbia City Gallery's Art in the Alley sale — come check out the great prices and creativity of local artists while enjoying live music. The art sale will be behind Columbia City Fitness Center, in the courtyard off the alley across from Verve, and runs from 5-9pm.

BeatWalk is now selling t-shirts, tote bags, bike bags, and mugs online. All proceeds go towards paying the musicians and minimal administrative costs. We’ll be adding new designs over time, and welcome any music-themed submissions from budding artists out there.

Neighborhood Garden Club

Calling all south-enders with a passion for plants! Are you a garden expert… or do you aspire to be one? Let's get together with like-minded folks and explore the possibility of a neighborhood garden club. Maybe you can share your expertise, find a weeding buddy, admire a new friend's garden — or show off your own!

Join us for a low-key organizational/interest meeting this weekend:

Sunday, July 27 at noon
in the backyard of the Columbia City Healing Arts Center
S. Angeline St. at 38th Ave S.
one block south and one block east of Rainier and Alaska

Can't make the meeting? No worries — we'll report any developments on Columbia Citizens, of course!

Columbia City in the blogossiphere

Amber at the Rainier Valley Post says she doesn't want direct links from the Wikli's blogossiphere over her concern that gossip just isn't her brand. We still encourage you to check out her blog.
