Columbia City Cinema

Seattle's Coolest Neighborhood Theater

There's a pause in the blockbuster parade of new movies this week so we're staying with the sweet and touching animated treasure Up, the surprisingly funny The Hangover, and bringing in a week of Terminator Salvation for those who haven't seen it yet.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian heads out Thursday, 6/11.

On Facebook? Join the Columbia City Cinema group. Just another great way to stay on top of all that's happening at Seattle's Coolest Neighborhood Cinema.

See you at the movies.

It's a Whatchamadoozie with a Whaddayacallit with a Thingamajigit on Top!

Only 2 more weeks to see a new children's musical It's a Whatchamadoozie with a Whaddayacallit with a Thingamajigit on Top! at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center (3515 S Alaska St). Performances will be on Friday evenings at 7pm, Saturday and Sundays at 2pm until June 21st.

The musical is set in Tremble Town. When a suspicious glow is spotted in the sky and an ominous musical note permeates the air, the adults are paralyzed by fear andthe Mayor orders all of the children inside for the summer. It takes Lucy Margaret and her plucky pals Cecil and Gracie to save the day by transforming fear into wonder and fiction into fact!

Tickets are $6/child and $12/adult and you can purchase them at brownpapertickets.com.

Hitt's Hill Work Party

Hello Everyone,

This is a reminder that our monthly work party is coming up on June 13th, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Since a few of us will be out of town that weekend, we will also have a work party the following weekend, June 20th, at the same time.

As you all know, this wet, warm weather has really gotten the weeds and everything else growing so there is lots to do to try and keep a handle on the park maintenance. I hope you can join us on either or both of the next two Saturdays at Hitt's Hill Park.
