Columbia City Farmers Market

It's picnic weather and the Market is the perfect place to gather the perfect picnic! Swing by and fill your basket with cool melons, crisp apples and asian pears, sweet nectarines and bartlett pears, raw and aged cows and goat milk cheeses, and, of course, fresh from the oven rolls and baguettes.

This week, you can also enjoy music from Jazz Night School (4-6p). See you at the Market!

the neighborhood brunch crunch

For years, neighbors have gotten together each month to share news and some laughs over a good meal. It's a fun neighborhood tradition, and a relaxed way to connect and get to know each other better.

Our brunch-o-meter is now near empty! We need gracious hosts. November and beyond are available for you to share this longstanding neighborhood tradition. If you're interested or would like to know more, please contact me (email, or 329-5912) — or go ahead and sign yourself up on the brunch page. Thanks.

A Chinook Book, direct to your door

This is a win-win-win for you, for sustainable local living, and for Graham Hill Elementary.

Chinook Book is a coupon book that supports local businesses and gives straightforward and simple ideas about improving health and reducing impacts on the environment. Coupons are easy to use: for food, services, and fun family activities.

A couple trips to the grocery store pay for the book — the rest is gravy (local, organic, cage-free gravy).

Please take a look at the Chinook Book website for a listing of all coupons. Each book sells for $20, and the school receives $10 of that.

Cash is fine, or checks made out to Graham Hill PTA. Just email me: moc.liamtoh|nalpttocs#moc.liamtoh|nalpttocs I'll bring it to you. Thanks.

Amber at the Rainier Valley Post says she doesn't want direct links from the Wikli's blogossiphere over her concern that gossip just isn't her brand. We still encourage you to check out her blog.
