How does this work? ▼

When does the Wikli come together? All week long — Citizens can post to the site anytime. Most Tuesday nights we tie up the loose ends, so on Wednesday mornings Citizens get an alert via email, facebook, or twitter, which invites hundreds of local readers to check out the week's updates.

your Wikli-fix: new and renewed There's a certain high that comes from welcoming new neighbors and new businesses — folks who have decided be a part of this place. And after a winter's hiatus, even better is to welcome back those longstanding, treasured neighborhood traditions. This Wikli will wave as you stroll through the farmer's market or roll along Lake Washington. ▼ more May 1 is the first day of the farmers market. Columbia City Farmers Market opening day Opening day of the 2013 Columbia City Farmers Market is Wednesday, May 1st, 3-7pm. The Columbia City Farmers Market features kids' tent activities each week alongside farmers and food vendors. On opening day farmers' tables will be piled high with spring greens, beautiful bouquets, edible plant starts for your garden, asparagus, cow and goat cheeses, fresh eggs, wild-caught salmon, pastured meats, baked goods, delicious prepared foods, and much more. historical society annual meeting Join Rainier Valley Historical Society, as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary at our annual meeting for members and friends. The meeting wil be held at the Mt. Baker Community Club, which is celebrating 100 years in the community. This year we're very excited to have noted Public Historian Lorraine McConaghy presenting "Territorial Voices: A Civil War Reader's Theater." This is an interactive, living theater piece revealing varied opinions on race and slavery from our state's own Civil War History. The presentation is sponsored by Humanities Washington's Speakers Bureau. Saturday May 4, doors open at 9am - meeting begins at 10am, a light lunch will be served following the program and we will have cake!
